When a search query is processed, TREX retrieves predefined properties. You can group these properties in a set to ensure that the system retrieves only the predefined properties that are used in the configuration of your search dialog box or in the search options. This preselection can improve performance during searches because TREX does not retrieve all properties but only those that are entered in this set.
You specify a set of properties in the Query parameter in the KM Search iView .
The system must be able to index the properties specified in the set.
The following parameters define a set of properties for search queries:
Parameter | Required | Description |
---|---|---|
Name |
Yes |
Name of the set. |
Description |
No |
Description of the purpose of the set. |
Properties |
Yes |
Specifies predefined properties that are used in the set. These properties must be indexable (Indexable parameter). Take into account the following places where indexable properties are specified:
Choose the properties specified in these places for the set. TREX always returns the following properties, therefore you do not need to specify them here:

To create a new set of properties for search queries, choose in the portal System Administration → System Configuration → Knowledge Management → User Interface → Search → Property Set for Search Requests.
To be able to use the set for searches, you add the following entry to the Query iView parameter for the KM Search iView to be used: &fetchPropSet=<%Name of the set%>
This ensures that TREX only retrieves the properties that you have specified in the set during a search.
