Use

You can use the Set Exception command (SET_EXCEPTION) to create or change an exception.

Command Parameters

The following information lists the command parameters in the same sequence that they appear in the command wizard when you insert the command:

Parameter Description

Target Data Providers (TARGET_DATA_PROVIDER_REF_LIST)

You enter a list of all data providers on which the command is based.

You specify the individual data providers in the Data Provided Affected parameter (TARGET_DATA_PROVIDER_REF).

Exception (EXCEPTION)

Enter the unique ID (UID) for the exception that you want to change. If you want to create a new exception, enter a new technical description. If you do not make an entry, a UID is generated.

Description (DESCRIPTION)

Using the text input dialog , enter a suitable description for the condition.

Active (ACTIVE)

You use this parameter to make the exception active. If you make the exception active, it is automatically used and displayed in the Web application when the command is executed.

Evaluation After Local Calculation (EVALUATION_AFTER_CALCULATION)

If you make the parameter active, the exception is evaluated after scaling and the local calculation.

List of Exception Threshold Values (EXCEPTION_THRESHOLD_LIST)

You use this parameter to enter a list of the exception threshold values. You must set the following additional parameters for each threshold value of the exception:

Alert Level (ALERT_LEVEL)

You use this parameter to specify the alert level. The alert level can have the values 1, 2, 3 for good figures, 4, 5, 6 for critical figures; and 7, 8, 9 for bad figures. The three priority settings (1, 2, and 3) for good, critical, and bad figures correspond to preassigned colors, which become more 'intense' the greater the deviation. Up to nine different shades of the traffic light colors (red, yellow, and green) are used.

Comparison Operation (COMPARISON_OPERATION)

You use this parameter to specify the operator of the exception and a value appropriate for the operator. You have the following options:

Equal To (EQUAL)

Not Equal To (NOT_EQUAL)

Between (BETWEEN)

Not Between (NOT_BETWEEN)

Greater Than (GREATER_THAN)

Greater Than or Equal To (GREATER_EQUAL)

Less Than (LESS_THAN)

Less Than or Equal To (LESS_EQUAL)

The values for these operators must be floating point numbers. For the operators Between and Not Between, you must enter a value range, that is, upper and lower threshold values. To do this, you use the parameters Low Value (LOW_VALUE) and High Value (HIGH_VALUE).

Characteristic Restrictions (CHARACTERISTIC_CONTEXT_LIST)

You use this parameter to specify for which cells the exception is to be evaluated.  You must set the following additional parameters for each Characteristic Restriction (CHARACTERISTIC_CONTEXT):

Characteristic (CHARACTERISTIC)

You use this parameter and the input help dialog to select the required characteristic.

Operator (CHARACTERISTIC_CONTEXT_TYPE)

You use this parameter to select the validity area for the characteristic.

Result (RESULT)

If you choose this option, the exception is valid only for aggregated values of the characteristic.

Level (LEVEL)

If you choose this option, the exception is valid only for one particular hierarchy level of the characteristic. Select the required hierarchy level.

Fixed Values (SINGLE_MEMBER)

If you choose this option, the exception is valid for just one specific value of the characteristic (such as "Spare Parts" under "Product Group"). Select the required characteristic value.

Any (ANY)

If you chose this option, the validity area is not restricted. The exception is valid for every drilldown state of the characteristic.

Standard Operator for All Characteristics (CHARACTERISTIC_CONTEXT_OPT)

You use this parameter to specify the validity area for all characteristics that you did not specify in the Characteristic Restrictions parameter (CHARACTERISTIC_CONTEXT_LIST).

Result (RESULT)

If you choose this option, the exception is valid only for aggregated values of the characteristic.

Any (ANY)

If you chose this option, the validity area is not restricted. The exception is valid for every drilldown state of the characteristic.

Data Cell (STRUCTURE_CONTEXT_LIST)

You use this parameter to specify a list of structure elements on which the exception is to be evaluated.

You must set the following additional parameters for each structure element:

Characteristic (CHARACTERISTIC)

You select a structure using the input help dialog .

Structure Element (STRUCTURE_CONTEXT_MEMBER)

You specify the structure element and whether all elements (All Members (ALL_MEMBERS)) or one particular element (Member Name (MEMBER_NAME)) of the structure are to be evaluated.

Target Structure Element (STRUCTURE_CONTEXT_TARGET)

You specify the structure element for which the exception is to be used.

None (NONE)

If you choose this option, the exception is used for the structure element on which it is evaluated.

All Members (ALL_MEMBERS)

If you choose this option, the exception is used for all structure elements of the structure selected under Characteristic (CHARACTERSTIC).

Member Name (MEMBER_NAME)

If you choose this option, the exception is used for one particular structure element of the structure selected under Characteristic (CHARACTERSTIC).

Axis to Apply Alert Levels (AXIS_TO_APPLY_ALERT_LEVELS)

You use this parameter to specify whether the exception is to be displayed in the columns, the rows, or in both the columns and the rows.

None (NONE)

If you choose this option, the exception is not displayed in the characteristic cells.

Columns (COLUMNS)

If you choose this option, the exception is displayed in the columns.

Rows (ROWS)

If you choose this option, the exception is displayed in the rows.

Both (BOTH)

If you choose this option, the exception is displayed in both the columns and the rows.

Apply Alert Level to Data Cells

(APPLY_ALERT_LVL_TO_DATA_CELLS)

You can use this parameter to specify whether to display the exception in the data cells (see Data Cell parameter (STRUCTURE_CONTEXT_LIST)).
