Use

You can transport Composite Application Framework (CAF) content between composite applications deployed on different Application Server Java (AS Java) systems.

Prerequisites
  • You have deployed the application whose content you want to transport.
  • The user you are logging on to the system with is assigned the SAP _CAF_DEVELOPER UME role.
Procedure
  1. Open the Service Browser. To do that, use the following URL: http://<host>:<port>/caf .
  2. Choose Service Browser.
  3. From the left pane, choose the application that contains the data you want to transport.
  4. Choose Transport Content.
  5. From the Content Transport table, select the business object nodes that you want to transport and choose Create Transport File.
    Note

Note that if you have selected more that one business object node and there is an association  between any of the selected business object nodes, the association data is automatically transported as well.

  6. Choose one of the options for type of the transport file, containing the business data you want to transport:
    • Download DBContent XML -use this option if you want to extract XML database content in production systems or use this option if you want to translate the exported database content.
    • Download DBContent SDA - use this option only if you want to extract database content SDA for test purposes.
      Caution

Do not use SDA files to extract database  content in production systems. These SDA files are not stored in any version control system and they are not a part of the upgrade procedure.

  7. Save the file to your file system.
