More information:Analysis Authorizations

General Practices with Migration

If you want to use the new concept for analysis authorizations and want to convert the existing reporting authorizations, you can use migration help. In most cases, you will still need to do some manual work though.

For information about migrating reporting authorizations, seeMigration of Reporting Authorizations to the New Concept.

Approach for Continued Use of Reporting Authorizations

Although we recommend going over to the new concept as of SAP NetWeaver 7.0, you can still continue using the previous concept. Note the following though:

The new concept is active by default. You can switch this in Customizing at SAP Customizing Implementation Guide → SAP NetWeaver  → SAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse → Reporting-Relevant Settings  → General Reporting Settings  → Select Analysis Authorization Concept.

The Customizing setting under SAP Customizing Implementation Guide → SAP NetWeaverSAP NetWeaver Business Warehouse → General BW Settings → Authorization Settings is now obsolete. As of SAP NetWeaver 7.0, the authorizations for MultiProviders are always checked by the authorization object S_RS_MPRO, regardless of the setting in Customizing. You therefore have to ensure that users have authorization for authorization object S_RS_MPRO if required.
