
In the BEx Broadcaster, you can use text variables in different places. The variables are used as placeholders and are filled with the relevant text when the broadcast setting is executed.
For example, you can use text variables in the subject line and contents of an e-mail when the document is distributed by e-mail. The same applies when you define the file name and display name of a document that is distributed to the portal.
When broadcasting by exception, which you normally perform in system administration, you can use text variables when assigning parameters to an alert, for example.
At the point where you want the text variable to appear in place of a fixed text, choose
with the quick info text Attach Text Variable.
The possible text variants appear in the BEx Broadcaster as context-sensitive. Depending on the settings made in a broadcast setting, different text variables are suited to different places. The BEx Broadcaster only displays the text variables that are available.

Text variables cannot be selected in the broadcasting wizard.
