Use

You can publish queries from BEx Query Designer, Web applications from BEx Web Application Designer, and reports from BEx Report Designer as iViews to the Portal Content Directory (PCD).

Note

You define and save Web applications as Web Templates in BEx Web Application Designer. The Web templates executed in the Web browser are called BEx Web applications. If you publish the Web templates in the PCD, they are available as BEx Web application iViews in the PCD.

Queries and reports are also available after publication as BEx Web application iViews in the PCD because they are based on Web templates.

Features

You have created and saved a query, Web template or report and can now makes it available as an iView in the Portal Content Directory.

Publish Dialog

Technical Name and Description of the iView

In the Publish dialog, the system automatically proposes a technical name and description for the BEx object (query, Web template, report). You can change this default name.

Folder Name

Use  Selection to open the dialog for selecting the folder in PCD. Expand the PCD root folder and select the folder where you want to store the iView.

Access in the Portal Content Directory

Portal content administrators (users with the portal role content_admin_role) are able to see the contents of the Portal Content Directory in the portal under Content Administration  → Portal Content. Access can be restricted to certain folders in the Portal Content Directory using authorizations.

To make an iView visible to users on the portal, you have to assign the iView to a portal role or portal page that is included in a portal role. This is done in the Portal Content Studio.

The portal cache is not automatically activated for the iView. Activation of the portal cache is done using the Portal Content Studio.
