Determining the Path of the iViewLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

To use the report-report interface in the portal, you need the Web address of the target iView in the portal. The Web address is a URL that comprises the following:

  • Web Protocol, Host Name and Port
  • NavigationTarget (iView)
  • DynamicParameter

In this section, we will explain how to determine Web log, host name, port and navigation target. The DynamicParameter depends on the receiver, another BEx Web Application or a SAP transaction.

Procedure
  1. Log on to the portal and navigate to the target iView.
  2. In the Options menu (top right), choose the entry Add to Browser Favorites.
  3. Select the new entry for the target iView in your Web browser favorites and, using the right mouse choose Properties
  4. Select the address and copy it to the clipboard.
    Tip

    Example of an address:

    http://portalserver:50000/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=ROLES://portal_content/.../RRI_Target

    or

    http://portalserver:50000/irj/portal?NavigationTarget=navurl://<GUID>

The address in your Web browser includes the first two parts of the URL that is used as the Web address in the report-report interface.

    • Web protocol, host name and port
    • NavigationTarget (complete path of the iViews or shortened display with navurl://<GUID>)
Result

You have determined the address and copied it to the clipboard. With this URL you can navigate directly to the selected iView. For information on how to transfer parameters for this iView, see:
