Configuring Change Recording in the PortalLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

SAP NetWeaver Portal provides a configuration page in which you can determine the locations in Portal Content to be recorded and written to the user changelist. The configuration page further allows you to determine, by prefix, the objects not to be recorded. Access the change recording configuration page as follows: Start of the navigation path System Administration Next navigation step Transport Next navigation step Change Recording Configuration End of the navigation path.

Omitting from Change Recording

There may be groups of objects in your portal content, such as in test systems, for which recording changes is not necessary or desirable. To exclude objects or folders from being recorded, choose the hyperlink Manage omitted prefixes . The Omit Object by Prefix window opens. By default, it lists the prefixes com.sap.pct and com.sap.portal .

To add a prefix for omission to the list:

  1. Type it in the text field, press Enter and then Add

  2. Add as many prefixes as needed and choose OK .

  3. To remove an item from the exclusion list, select the item and choose Remove . The item will be recorded.

Choosing Change Recording Locations

The configuration page shows an expandable list that reflects portal content and has a checkbox next ot each location. You can use the Search field to find specific locations. You can also press Refresh all locations to make sure the configuration list is updated with the latest possible changes in portal content locations.

Select the locations to be recorded and choose Save .

Note
  • Selection or omission of a location affects the subfolders of the location and the objects included in those folders.

  • The search functionality returns results in a flat list.

  • Locations defined in SAP NetWeaver Administrator as system locations appear in the portal but are inactive and you cannot include or omit them.
