Configuring Process ModelsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

You can use a process model from the ES Repository as a template for configuration. The relevant configuration objects are calculated on the basis of the information saved in the model, as well as additional assignments that you make interactively at configuration time. The determined objects are created or existing configuration objects are checked to ensure that they can be used before including them in a configuration scenario. The configuration of more extensive and more processes is therefore automated as much as possible.

All the configuration settings that you make with the model configurator are saved in the Integration Directory together with a configuration scenario. This means that the relevant data is always available when you reload the configuration scenario. Each time that you call this model configurator, the model is loaded from the Enterprise Services Repository. However, this is always the version in which the object was originally included and configured. This enables you to divide up configuration work into multiple steps and means that the configuration is not affected by any changes to the model in the Enterprise Services Repository.

You can use the following model types from the ES Repository as a template for the configuration:

  • SAP process component interaction model

  • Process Integration Scenarios

Caution

When you configure local message processing using the Advanced Adapter Engine or when you use the Advanced Adapter Engine Extended, you can use only process integration scenarios as configuration templates. Process component interaction models are not supported in that case.
