Creating Long Texts for Messages

You need to create a long text whenever a message short text is not enough.

You have already created a short text for the message. You must not have documented the short text message as self-explanatory.

1. Choose Goto → Messages.
2. Position the cursor on the corresponding message.
3. Choose the Long text pushbutton.
4. The SAPscript editor screen appears.
5. Enter the long text.
6. Carry out a check in SAPscript editor.
7. Choose  with the quick info text Save.
   Caution

   For transportable message classes, you must save active the long text by choosing .

When a message with a long text is triggered, the system indicates this by a yellow question mark. Depending on the SAPGUI settings, this is displayed:

In the status bar

In a message dialog box.

When you click the status bar or Help pushbutton, the system displays the long text.
