BEx transport objects such as query elements, query views, Web templates, Web items, Enterprise Reports and workbooks are given special treatment in the BI transport system.
If you are transporting these objects for the first time after creating them, follow the instructions inTransporting BI Objects. If the objects are assigned to a package with the first transport, the automatic change recording is made with a special transport request that you have declared as a BEx transport request. If you use a BEx transport request of this kind, the system does not prompt you for a query in subsequent object changes, and you therefore do not need to write each object to the transport request Using a BEx transport request allows you to ensure for example that all transport requests belonging to a query are written to one request.
There are two ways of declaring a transport request as a BEx transport request. One of these is to declare a standard BEx transport request that is valid for all BEx objects that have already been transported. The other is to declare transport requests for certain packages that the changed objects from the packages in question are then written to. With both request types, we recommend defining a new request as a BEx transport request immediately after releasing the previous one,
If the standard transport system has been activated, the BEx transport requests will not be used, and the BEx objects specified above will not be given any special treatment.
In addition to these BEx objects, objects from the planning, broadcasting settings also use the BI transport connection using BEx transport requests. Even if the standard transport system has been activated, these objects will be written to the BEx transport request(s).
Use
You can store a single transport request for BEx objects that have already been transported. All changes are written to this request - regardless of the user.
Procedure
BEx with the quick info Create Transport Requests for BEx. The BEx Transport Requests dialog box appears.
Continue.
CTO Transport Organizer: Overview. The Transport Organizer: Requests screen appears.
Release DirectlyUse
Onerequest is sometimes not enough for all BEx objects. You can then make one BEx request per package.
This is the case in the following scenarios:
If no specific request is saved for a package, the object is written to the standard BEx transport request.
Procedure
Assigning Transport Requests to Packages
BEx with the quick info Create Transport Requests for BEx. The BEx Transport Requests dialog box appears.
Insert Row in the screen area BEx Transport Requests for Single Development Classes. The Enter Development Class dialog box appears.
Continue. The New Transport Request for BEx dialog box appears.
Continue. The BEx objects are now distributed to the assigned requests using your package. This means you can write several packages to one request.Changing the Assignment of Transport Requests
Change Request. The New Transport Request for BEx dialog box appears.
Continue. You have now changed the assignment: A new request has been made for the package.More Information
