JSPM Log files

Changed

As of SAP NetWeaver Release 7.0 SP 08, the Java Support Package Manager (JSPM) has the following new features:

  • If JSPM cannot be started, you can view LOG files in a human readable format using the Log Reader. The Log Reader allows you to convert a LOG file to a human readable format and save it as a new file, or to view a LOG file in a human readable format in the command line.

  • The names of the JSPM log directories are created using the following pattern: <log_yyyy_mm_dd_hh_mm_ss> that contains the timestamp of the logon session.

  • The main JSPM log file has been renamed from JSPM_PROCESS.log to JSPM_MAIN.log.

  • SDM log files are copied from the SDM log directory to the JSPM log directory where you can easily find them.

Import of DCs

Changed

As of SAP NetWeaver 7.0 Support Package Stack 11, SAP uses an enhanced procedure to produce all Java Support Packages. Only those development components (DCs) are given new version numbers whose content has actually changed in the current Support Package. Java Support Package Manager (JSPM) imports only those DCs that show differences when compared with the source state of the customer system. This reduces the import time for the entire Support Package Stack (SPS). You benefit from the reduction in import times when you import an SPS into a system with source state SPS10 or higher.

Note

If your system is already on SPS10, import times are reduced for SPS11 or a higher SPS. If your system is still on SPS09 or lower, import times for SPS11 are not reduced. You notice the improvement when you are on SPS11 and import a later SPS.

You see the current SP level in the system information display (at the software component level) after you import SPS11 or higher. The development components, however, can have differing version numbers.
