Displaying the History of Administration Actions (DBA History)Locate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

You are logged on to the database as the database system administrator or as a DBM operator with server authorization for accessing database files (reading only).

For more information, see Glossary, Server Permission.

Context

The DBA history contains information about past administrative actions. Database Studio takes this information from DBM log files, database kernel log files and third-party backup tool log files.

Note

In non-SAP systems with database version <7.9, the DBA history was not enabled by default. If you have upgraded your database to version 7.9 from an earlier version, you can enable the DBA history using the dbm_configset DBMCLI command. For more information, see Database Manager CLI, dbm_configset.

Procedure

  1. Select the database in the explorer tree.
  2. In the context menu of the database, choose Administration.
  3. Open the DBA History tab page.

You can filter the administrative actions according to the following categories:

    • Backup/Recovery

    • Database Structure Check

    • Log Backup File Archiving.
