Reorganizing Bookmark IDs and View IDsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

With report RSRD_BOOKMARK_REORGANISATION, you can reorganize and delete bookmark IDs and view IDs that the system created for information broadcasting and that are no longer needed.

A bookmark ID is the identification number (ID) of a saved navigational state of a Web application; a view ID is the ID of a saved navigational state of a query. These IDs are generated when you create online links for information broadcasting.

Procedure

Calling the Administration Environment

You can access the reorganization of bookmarks in the following ways:

  • Call transaction SA38, enter RSRD_BOOKMARK_REORGANISATION in the Program field, and choose Execute.
  • In the Data Warehousing Workbench (transaction RSA1), choose Administration → Broadcasting, or call transaction RSRD_ADMIN. Broadcasting Administration appears. Choose Bookmarks.

The screen Reorganization of Bookmarks/View IDs (created in broadcasting) appears.

Deleting Temporary Bookmark IDs and View IDs

By choosing Temporary Bookmark IDs and View IDs, you delete bookmark IDs and view IDs that were generated temporarily for the system to generate online links. The bookmark IDs and view IDs are no longer used in broadcast settings and are not part of a URL for any sent online links.

You can highlight the IDs you want to delete and specify a time frame (for example, automatically delete bookmark IDs and view IDs that are older than eight days).

Reorganizing Bookmark IDs and View IDs Used in Sent Links

By choosing Reorganizing Bookmark IDs and View IDs Used in Sent Links, you reorganize bookmark IDs and view IDs that are no longer used in broadcast settings but have still been sent as a part of a URL for an online link. This means that the bookmark IDs and view IDs can only be deleted when they are no longer being used in a broadcast setting.

You can select these IDs for reorganization and specify the time frame.

Displaying Bookmark IDs and View IDs in a Test Call

If you want to view which bookmark IDs and view IDs will be deleted according to the entries you have made before you delete them, select Test Call (No Delete).

Displaying Bookmark IDs and View IDs in a Detailed List

To generate a detailed list of bookmark IDs and view IDs, select Output Details. Referenced means that the IDs are used in a broadcast setting; Sent means that the IDs have been sent as part of a URL.

Scheduling the Reorganization of Bookmark IDs and View IDs in the Background

To automate the reorganization of bookmark IDs and view IDs, you can schedule report RSRD_BOOKMARK_REORGANSATION periodically in the background.
