Filtering Content for Portal on Device
Portal on device uses a filtering mechanism to determine the content to display on each portal desktop type. The filtering mechanism relies on the Filter ID (string) property, which is used to connect between content and the portal desktops on which to display the content.
Portal on device comes with the following portal desktops: Smartphone Portal Desktop and Tablet Portal Desktop . Each desktop is configured with a corresponding filter ID value: com.sap.portal.smartphone and com.sap.portal.tablet .
When you create content for mobile devices, you use the relevant Filter ID value to tag all the content to display on the corresponding desktop.

You can tag content with more than one filter ID (separated by semicolons). For example, if a certain iView is suitable for both smartphone and tablet devices.

You can define additional filter ID values, as necessary. For example, if you need to refine content filtering even further, to differentiate between different types of smartphone devices or tablet devices.
