Uploading Multiple Files to KM FoldersLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

  • You have Java Runtime Environment (JRE) 1.6 Update 10 or higher installed with Enable the Next Generation Java Plug-in option activated.

  • Your browser supports Java.

Context

You can upload more than one file to a Knowledge Management folder and apply certain properties to all of the files selected for upload in a single iteration.

Procedure

  1. Choose Start of the navigation path Folder Next navigation step New Next navigation step Multiple File Upload End of the navigation path.
  2. Choose Select Files , and in the Select files for upload dialog box, select the files that you want to upload.

The system displays the files in the Selected Files list. You can optionally change the list by adding or deleting entries. For example, you can add files stored in a folder different from the one in which the already available files are stored.

  3. Optional: If required, you can modify the properties of the files you have selected for upload. To do so, proceed as follows:
    • To modify the file-specific properties, choose Expand to display file-specific properties next to the file for which you want to change the individual properties, and then make the required changes.

    • To modify the properties that are common for all of the files you have selected for upload, choose Show Properties , and then make the required changes.

  4. Choose Upload .

The system checks for conflicts such as existing or locked files and performs the upload as follows:

    • In case no conflicts exist, the system uploads the selected files.

    • In case the list of selected files contains a file that already exists in the respective location in the target system, you can choose between the following options:

      Option

      Description

      Overwrite current file

The system overwrites only the current file.

      Overwrite all files

The system overwrites the current file and from that point on it, overwrites all already existing files without asking for confirmation.

      Skip current file

The system skips the upload of the current file.

      Skip all files

The system skips the upload of the current file and from that point on, it skips the upload of all other already existing files without asking for confirmation.

    • In case the list contains locked files, the system skips their upload.

      Note

The system first checks for already existing files and only after that does it check if there are locked files in the selection. The system always skips the upload of locked files regardless of the option you have chosen for already existing files.
