Releasing Objects in PCD CacheLocate this document in the navigation structure

Context

You can release all objects stored in the PCD (Portal Content Directory) caches:

  • Shared objects cache (xfs.data) : Contains PCD objects that are shared among different portal users, such as roles, pages, and iViews.

  • User objects cache (xfs.user) : Contains objects that store user-specific personalization data. One object exists per user at this caching level.

Use this option for support or for development purposes.

Note

  • The cache release operation may impact system performance while the operation is taking place.

  • Make sure PCD content is not being edited during this operation because this may cause inconsistencies in the PCD.

Procedure

  1. In the portal, navigate to Start of the navigation path System Administration Next navigation step Support Next navigation step PCD Tools Next navigation step Cache Release End of the navigation path.
  2. Choose Release Cache .

    A confirmation message is displayed at the bottom of the page.
