New

You can now bookmark content in the navigation panel.

For more information, see Using Web Page Composer .

Overview Page

New

Web Page Composer opens to an Overview page displaying components that help users find and work with their content, such as:

  • Recently modified

  • Bookmarks

  • Waiting for approval

For information about the Overview page, see Using Web Page Composer .

For information about setting up the Overview page, see Setting Up the Overview Page .

Implementing Custom Content Providers

New

Web Page Composer provides an API that enables you to integrate content of your choice by implementing a custom content provider. You can display the custom content provider in a separate tile in the page content panel in edit mode, and implement a content handler to handle modifications made to the custom content.

For more information, see Implementing Custom Content Providers .

Extending the Notification Mechanism

New

Web Page Composer provides a standard notification mechanism, which uses a standard mail client to send notifications regarding various scenarios, such as the approval workflow for publishing a page. WPC provides an API that enables you to replace the standard notification mechanism, by sending notifications to a custom portal component. To do this, you need to write a custom portal component, and implement a custom notification handler.

For more information, see Extending the WPC Notification Mechanism .

Regionalization

Changed

System administrators can now disable regionalization after it has been enabled. This has no effect on existing Web Page Composer content that was created when regionalization was enabled.

For more information, see Enabling the Creation of Regional Pages .

Content Creation Methods

Enhanced

Two new properties have been added to the Web Page Composer Content Editor that allow administrators to specify the method in which content is created when portal users drag items from the Content Templates and Portal Repository tiles in the Page Content panel.

For more information, see Configuring General Web Page Composer Properties .

Versioning

Enhanced

When versioning is activated, up to 10 versions of a page are saved by default. Above 10 versions, saving a new version overwrites the oldest version.

Administrators can now configure the number of versions that can be saved by configuring a property in SAP NetWeaver Administrator.

For more information, see Configuring the Number of Saved Versions .
