Configuring the Central Performance History

The most important functions of the Central Performance History (CPH) are explained in the following sections:

• In a collection and reorganization schema, you define how long and with which granularity performance values should be retained in the CPH. There are two ways in which you can create and edit these schemata:
  • Maintaining Collection and Reorganization Schema (Default Setting)
  • Maintaining Collection and Reorganization Schema (Expert Setting)

  In the expert setting, you can create any schemata from scratch, while in the standard setting, you can only edit existing schemata by changing the storage period of the various aggregates. Due to the standard schemata that SAP delivers, the standard setting is sufficient in most cases.

• To determine which performance values are to be stored in the CPH, you must Assign Performance Values to Collection and Reorganization Schemata s.
• You can use the collection and reorganization schemata to define after which periods of time the performance values are aggregated to which granularities. You can optionally also define calculation rules for this in day and calendar schemata:
  • A day schema determines the rules for the aggregation to daily values (see Creating and Editing a Day Schema sa).
  • A calendar schema determines the rules for the aggregation to weekly-to-yearly values, (see Creating and Editing a Calendar Schema sa).
• The data collection and reorganization of the performance values are performed as background jobs. You can change the periods of these jobs yourself (see Changing Extended Settings of the Central Performance History sa.
