Searching Communication ChannelsLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

You can use the communication channel monitor to find information about the communication channels in which you are interested. In case you find a communication channel in which there are errors, you can research the possible reasons for these errors.

Prerequisites

The user account you use should be assigned to one of the Process Integration monitoring roles. For more information about which roles allow you to view and modify communication channels, see Monitoring Roles .

Procedure

Accessing the Communication Channel Monitor

  1. Do one of the following:

    • Open a browser and go to http://[host]:[port]/pimon to access the Process Integration tools. Then choose Start of the navigation path Monitoring Next navigation step Adapter Engine Next navigation step Communication Channel Monitoring End of the navigation path.

    • Open a browser and go to http://[host]:[port]/nwa to access SAP NetWeaver Administrator. Then choose Start of the navigation path SOA Next navigation step Monitoring Next navigation step PI Communication Channel Monitoring End of the navigation path.

  2. Choose the Communication Channels tab.

    Once you access the monitor you can search for communication channels in standard or advanced mode.

Searching in Standard Mode

  1. If required, enter the name of the communication channel you want to find. You can enter an asterisk (*) as a wildcard character.

  2. If required, enter a status to search for communication channels.

  3. Start your search.

Searching in Advanced Mode

  1. To navigate to the advanced mode, choose Advanced in the standard mode.

  2. Specify your selection criteria.

    If free entry is permitted, you can use an asterisk (*) as wildcard character. You can reset selected or entered values.

  3. Start your search.

Result

The system performs a search based on the provided search criteria and displays the results in a table. For more information, see Communication Channel Details .
