You can use a WebDAV client to establish a connection to an ECM repository on your PC. This enables you to call and manage the entire content of the repository in Windows Explorer. This includes restricting access rights to the repository.
SAP supports the WebDAV client SAP NetWeaver Portal Drive . Its name reflects its intended use as a means to access portal documents. However, the client is generally used to make content from an ECM system available locally in Windows.
You have installed the WebDAV client on your PC (or on the PC of every user) as follows:
Call SAP Service Marketplace at service.sap.com .
Search for Portal Drive under .
Select, download, and install the download file (using the relevant search result, for example PORTAL DRIVE WEBDAV CLIENT).
