Configuring Web Page ComposerLocate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

  • You have the following roles:

    • System Administration

    • Content Administration

    • User Administration

  • You have created a backup copy of the existing Knowledge Management configuration data. For more information, see SAP Note1571384 Information published on SAP site.

    If errors occur during the configuration process, which require you to restore the configuration data, see SAP Note 1571384 Information published on SAP site for information about restoring the previously backed-up configuration.

  • You have configured the URL generator service.

    If you want to make areas available externally, you have to specify a host that external users can reach in the URL generator service.

  • You have activated the Map extensions (case-insensitive) parameter in the MIME Handler service.

Context

Perform the configuration and administration tasks outlined below to set up and maintain Web Page Composer.

Procedure

  1. Set permissions.
  2. Optional: You can configure entry points if you store shared Web content (for example, a company logo) in central folders. You can then use these entry points to navigate directly to these folders in the Web content browser.

  3. Configure the web form content editors.

    For more information, see Configuring the Web Page Composer Editors

  4. Configure general properties, such as the location of various folders necessary for working with Web Page Composer.
  5. Set up the Overview page.

  6. Configure the search for Web pages.

    For more information, see Configuring the Search for Web Pages .

  7. Optional: Define new Web forms.

    For more information, see Creating New Web Forms .

  8. Optional: Enable Regionalization.

    For more information, see Creating Regional Versions of Pages .

  9. Connect pages or areas to portal roles. This only needs to be done once for each top-level area.

  10. Optional: Implement restrictions on the types of content that can be added to specific containers in a page layout.

  11. Move Web Page Composer content between different portal systems.
