Modifying Service, Manager, or Application PropertiesLocate this document in the navigation structure

Use

This procedure enables you to:

  • view and change properties of a particular service, manager, or application.

  • view nested properties (if any). The "children properties" are separated by a slash (/).

  • filter and search for particular applications, services or managers by entering only part of the name.

    Caution

    Do not enter any other filter signs (for example, asterisk (*)).

Prerequisites

Start the command console Config Tool by double-clicking the consoleconfig script file in SAP_install_dir/system_name/instance_name/j2ee/configtool directory.

Procedure

From the console menu, select <Template_name> or <Instance_number> , depending on the level, on which you want to configure.

Modifying Applications

  1. Choose Applications .

  2. To only view information, choose Get Application info .

  3. Choose a vendor.

    The console displays the complete number of applications.

  4. To view all the applications, press Enter .

  5. To change properties, choose Edit Application info .

  6. Choose a vendor.

    The console displays only the applications that have properties.

  7. Choose the application you want to configure.

    • To edit the current value, choose E .

    • To reset to the default value, choose D .

    • To go to the next application, choose N .

    • To skip this menu, choose S .

  8. To save the new value, choose Apply Changes .

    Note

    If you want to export the configuration you have made to an XML file, choose Export to XML and then choose Apply Changes .

Modifying Managers

  1. Choose Managers .

  2. To only view information, choose Get Manager info .

    The console displays the complete list of managers.

  3. To change properties, choose Edit Manager info .

  4. Choose the manager you want to configure.

    Information about the first property of the chosen manager appears.

    Note

    The configuration options are the same as for applications.

Modifying Services

  1. Choose Services .

  2. To only view information, choose Get Service info .

    The console displays the complete number of services.

  3. To change properties, choose Edit Service info .

    The console displays the number of only those services that have properties.

  4. Choose a service to configure.

    Note

    The configuration options are the same as for applications and managers.
