Configuring Additional Components

The list below summarizes additional configuration tasks that may be required for one of the following reasons:

• Some components are not mandatory because SAP offers the flexibility to connect software of other vendors to SAP NetWeaver or to connect components of earlier SAP releases. However, you may decide to use the newest technology delivered with SAP NetWeaver 7.3.

• Some components are only required for specific development scenarios. If you install them, they may require additional mandatory configuration or components that already exist may require mandatory configuration to connect to the component that has just been installed.

Some of the components below may not require mandatory configuration because they run out-of-the-box. The following sections indicate what type of configuration is required and if the configuration is executed using the functional unit configuration tool, the configuration wizard UI, or by manual configuration:
