
In order to work with the SAP tools in the Developer Studio you have to set some preferences before you can start with the development.
Important preferences are:
Defines the server you are developing with. To change the settings or add a new server choose:
Windows → Preferences →SAP AS Java.

Defines the settings for web services, like the service registry. To change the settings choose:

Depending on the technology you are using the following preferences are important:
If you are working with development components (DC), like in CAF and Web Dynpro, you have to check the JDK settings for the DC build. To adjust the settings choose:
Windows → Preferences →Development Infrastructure → DC Build.
Preferences for the Composite Application Framework (CAF). To change the settings choose:
Windows → Preferences →Composite Application Framework.
Preferences for Web Dynpro for Java. To change the settings choose:
Windows → Preferences →Web Dynpro.
Preferences for the Dictionary perspective. To change the settings choose:
Windows → Preferences →Dictionary.
