Activating the UI Theme DesignerLocate this document in the navigation structure

To edit portal themes using the UI Theme Designer, you must first activate it from SAP NetWeaver Administrator.

Prerequisites

You have the relevant permissions to view and edit themes.

Note

Before activating the UI Theme Designer, export themes created with the Theme Editor that you would like to continue to use with the UI Theme Designer.

Context

You can use the Theme Editor or the UI Theme Designer to develop one or more themes for your portal users. To edit portal themes using the UI Theme Designer, you must first activate it from SAP NetWeaver Administrator.

Procedure

  1. In SAP NetWeaver Administrator, navigate to: Start of the navigation path Configuration Next navigation step Infrastructure Next navigation step Application Modules End of the navigation path.
  2. Filter the Application List. In the Name field, type laf, and then press Enter.
  3. Scroll to the Portal Service Details section, and in the Portal Services tab, choose Portal Service Configuration.
  4. To activate UI Theme Designer and deactivate the Theme Editor, change the value of the Determine what will be the theme runtime provider property to LESS and choose Save.
  5. Restart the portal service.

Results

You can now customize themes using UI Theme Designer. The Theme Editor is disabled.

Note

To switch back to using the Theme Editor, delete the Less value from the Determine what will be the theme runtime provider property and restart the portal service.
