You can position and configure a query template on an image. You can do the following:

  • Configure the parameters of the query for threshold values, colors, graphics, icons, mapped values, and size in pixels

    See Configure Query Display in the Activities section

  • Display the query as value or as gauge chart. You can configure display parameters to the gauge chart.

  • Add additional query parameters

    For details, see Configuring Query Templates in the Activities section of Query Templates

  • Delete the query placed on the image

In the Preview mode, the color of the query name and the values changes when the condition are matched with the runtime value of the query parameter. When you place the query on an area, the area is highlighted with the colors specified for the matching condition that is evaluated with the runtime value of the query parameters. Additionally, a KPI query on an image can be displayed as a line chart at runtime. You can also change the duration and granularity. At runtime, the line chart with the selected duration and granularity is displayed.

Activities

To configure the query parameters, do the following:

  1. Select the query and choose Configure Query Display.

    A dialog box appears.

  2. Choose Value from Show As field.

    To display the query as gauge chart, choose Gauge from Show As field. On choosing Gauge, the Rules tab is disabled.

  3. Select the parameter from Select Value Column.

  4. From the Rules tab, do the following:

    1. Choose Add.

    2. Depending on the parameter type (Numeric/String/Boolean), you can choose the operators from the Operators column.

    3. You can manually enter the values in the Value column or select a values from the value help. The Available Columns dialog box appears.

    4. Choose the relevant color from the Color column.

      A Color Picker dialog box appears.

    5. You can either choose a graphic or an icon from Graphics Type and Icons column respectively.

    6. Enter any value or text in the Mapped Value column.

      If the condition is true, the value or text provided in the Mapped Value column is displayed instead of actual tag value.

    7. Enter a numerical value in Size column.

  5. The Display tab contains the following fields:

    • Show Column Name: The name entered in Select Display Column is displayed in the Preview mode

    • Show Value: Displays the values of the query parameter selected in Select Display Column

      This field is disabled when you select Gauge in Show As field.

    • Show Units: Displays the unit of measure of the selected query parameter

    • Size: Displays the image in the entered pixel size

  6. The Events tab has the following:

    • On Value Change: Call the method mentioned in Method Name field when there is a change in the parameter value

    • On Click:

      • Show Query Data: Displays the query data in table format when you click on the gauge or the value at runtime.

        Note Note

        This checkbox will not be visible for KPI query.

      • Call Javascript Function: Enter a name in Method Name field. At runtime, the method is called when you click on the tag.

      • Show Trend: Displays the trend of the KPI at runtime for specified granularity, duration and schedule.

  7. Choose Apply.

  8. To configure additional query parameters, choose Configure Query Parameters (Configure Query Parameters).
