Projects
You use the Projects
screen to import and export SAP Manufacturing Integration and Intelligence (SAP MII) projects and define certain project settings. You can export a project using Enhanced Change and Transport System (CTS+) or file system from SAP MII system to other systems. For more details on CTS+, see Enhanced Change and Transport System (CTS+).
Note
You can export only un-deployed projects.
When you create or import a project, the system creates the ProjectInfo.xml
file in the SAP MII Workbench on the Meta-Inf
tab under <Project>/META-INF
. In the editor for this file, you can do the following:
View default project attributes
Change the project description
If you are assigned the XMII_ProjectManagement
action, you can add, delete, or change custom attributes. For more information about actions, see Actions for Permissions.
When you export a project, the exported zip file contains the files and project structure as configured in the SAP MII Workbench. An ExportManifest.xml
file is also included and contains the following data:
User who exported the project
Hidden project setting
Creation date of the project
User who created the project
Project description
Project name
System project setting
Date and time of the export
SAP MII version from which the project was exported
When you export a project using CTS+, the SAP MII system gets the transport request and the owner from the CTS+ system.
If you import a project that already exists, the system overwrites the current project structure and files.
You import hidden projects that do not appear on the Projects
screen or in the SAP MII Workbench. System-defined projects may appear in the Projects
screen and in the SAP MII Workbench, but you cannot delete them. You import a project with the same name as a hidden or system-defined project and overwrite its properties. If you do this, they are not considered to be hidden or system-defined projects.
You create an external project structure, include it in a zip file, and import it as a new project. You do not need an ExportManifest.xml
file to import a project.
By default, all projects are visible to all users. Using Security
tab, you can add a role to a project and only the assigned roles can access the project. You can assign, remove, or edit the roles to the created projects. These projects can be viewed in Workbench, Services, and Self Service Composition Environment.
Caution
Authorization to roles in Security
tab is available from MII 15.0 SP02 release.
To import or export projects, on the SAP MII administration menu, choose You click the icons at the end of the row to export or delete listed projects.
If you want to track project statistics, select the Usage Monitoring
checkbox. For more information, see Content Usage.
