You use the function to import and export files or folder structure from the SAP MII Workbench to the local system in the folder structural hierarchy.
The roles that allows import and export of files and folders into the SAP MII Workbench are:
XMII_ADMINISTRATOR
XMII_SUPER_ADMINISTRATOR
XMII_PROJECT_MANAGEMENT
XMII_DEVELOPER
When you import a folder, the target folder must always be a folder and not a file.
If you import a file or folder, the system checks for existing file/folder names. If the target file name is same as the original, the system prompts a dialog box. The system further checks for overwriting the existing files with the same name. The import function is unsuccessful when the target folder is:
Checked out by others for create
Checked out for delete
Deployed resource
You cannot import files to a different tabs of the SAP MII Workbench. In other words, every tab in the SAP MII Workbench allows only specific types of file to be imported. For example, Object tab allows only MDO type files but not query templates.
You can export files/folder structure from the SAP MII Workbench to the local system in the folder structure hierarchy. Multiple export of files and folders is allowed. You can export files and folder to target location in the local system. A success message is displayed if the export is successful. The export function is unsuccessful when the selected file or the folder on the SAP MII Workbench is a Deployed resource.

To import or export files and folders, on the SAP MII Workbench, select a file or folder under any tab. You click the icons at the end of the row to import or export. Choose or Browse for the target folder. On saving a success message appears.
