Alarms are rules that are used to evaluate the acceptability of the SPC data or whether the data is in statistical control. Alarm rules are categorized according to the groups specified in iSPCChart Alarms. Some alarm rules are categorized separately for upper and lower charts as well as upper and lower regions of upper and lower charts. For each alarm rule, you must provide the limit and length (numbers of data points) that are considered to determine if the alarm rule has been violated.

Example Example

If the limit is 3 and length is 10, then the chart evaluates points 1-10, 2-11, 3-12 and so on against the alarm conditions in the rule. Of the 10 data points, only 3 data points violating the alarm conditions are needed to violate the rule. These data points can be anywhere within the string of points. If the rule is violated, the last data point, in the string, which violates the alarm condition is marked with the alarm color and the WECO text for the alarm rule.

End of the example.

Activities

You set these properties for your i5SPC chart template on the Alarms screen in the SAP MII Workbench and change the parameter values using web page scripting. For details, see Web Page Scripting for i5SPCCharts.
