Property Sets
You can add property sets and subsequent properties under the set with the default values or typical values of each property.
Note
The Property Set screen contains the default property set, SAP_PCO Metadata.
You use the property set to associate properties within the property set to the groups and tags on the Catalog Administration screen. You can change the typical values of the properties for a group and tag. A property set is a repository of the default values of the properties. When you create a property set, you define the default values for the properties under that property set. Property sets can be assigned to one or more groups and tags on the Catalog Administration screen. The standard data types of each property in the property set are String/Double/Integer/Boolean.
The predefined categories are associated with property set and their properties. You cannot modify or delete the properties associated with the property set that is assigned to a category.

You can view tags and groups that use a given property set. A Usage screen appears when a property is added or deleted from the property set that is used in the Plant Information Maintenance screen. The Usage screen displays the tags, type, and the paths used by the property sets. When you save the changes to the property sets, the Usage screen contains the following details:
Fields | Use |
|---|---|
Select | The check box is enabled if the group or tag using this property set is unlocked and open for editing. You can select the row and, upon saving, the change in property set (any new property that is added or deleted) is updated to that particular group or tag. If, however, the row is not selected, the change in property set is not updated to the groups or tags in the Plant Information Catalog. In such cases, an indication appears on the Plant Information Maintenance screen beside such groups and tags indicating that the associated property set is not synchronized with the changes. To update all the groups or tags, choose Select All check box. |
Type | Group or tag |
Name | Displays the name of the group or tag |
Namespace | Paths in which the property sets and the properties are used. |
Status | Displays the following status:
|
Groups and tags are updated based on the following checks:
If the selected group or tag is associated with a change list, the corresponding change list is updated.
If there is no change list for the group/tag that is associated with the property set, the system prompts you to create a new change list. After this, the property set changes are cascaded to the groups and tags and are tracked using the newly created change list.
