You use the Alert Cleanup Rules screen to do the following:

  • Create rules for alert processing

  • Edit Cleanup rules

  • Delete alert cleanup rules

  • Enable/Disable cleanup rule

  • Run cleanup rule

The alert cleanup rules are executed at consecutive intervals specified in the Cleanup Interval field in the System Properties screen.

Features

You can create an alert rule using the Create button. Existing alert rules and their details are listed in the table. The following table lists the properties used to create an alert rule:

Displays the status of the alerts

Enable

Activates the alert rule

Executes the selected alert rule

Creates a alert rule

Edit

Edit a rule

Delete

Deletes alert rules

Activities

To create an alert rule, do the following:

  1. Choose   Alert Cleanup Rules   Create.  

    The Details for test screen appears.

  2. Enter the following details:

    • Name:

    • Description:

    • Alert Path: Select the path from the Alert Browser screen.

    • Older By: Alerts older than the defined number of hours are processed by the rule.

    • Status: Choose one of the following statuses:

      • New

      • In Process

      • Acknowledged

      • Expired

  3. Alert Severity: Choose the severity - Low/Medium/High.

  4. Enabled: Indicator to make the rule active.
