You use the Alert framework to create an alert with the required specifications on the SAP MI Workbench.

Features

You create and maintain alerts in a project on the Object tab under the MIIOBJ folder. The alert file has its own file type with extension .alrt. Only authorized roles receive alert notifications by e-mail. Only users of the mapped roles can view the alerts on the Alert Watchlist and will get corresponding notifications.

On the Template Categories tag, you use the following screens to create and configure an alert:

  • General

On this screen, you enter the following details for a alert:

    • Definition

You enter the description, severity of the alert and the expiration time. On choosing the severity, the alerts with their corresponding severity icons are displayed in the Alert Watchlist screen. You can also filter the alerts based on the severity in the Alert Watchlist screen.

    • Follow-up Actions

You define the actions to be taken in name-URL pairs when an alert is raised. You can add, update or delete the actions.

    • Container Properties

You define the context information relevant to the alert wherein you can add, update or delete the values.

    • Delivery Transactions

You can deliver the alert using other channels such as SMS or to perform follow up actions like creating maintainence notifications.

  • Role Mapping

On the Role Mapping screen, you can authorize roles to receive the alert notifications.

  • Security

For more information, see Template Security.
