Group Functions
You can create a group under the root node or under any group with the following properties:
Name
Description
Category
You can assign a property set and enter values to the properties for a group. By default, the group does not have any tags. You have to create tags within a group. For more information about tags, refer Tag Functions.
Note
Groups with same name cannot appear at the same level.
Any changes, except a change in the translation language change must be approved by an Approver. Only on approval, the changes for that particular group are visible in the Plant Information Catalog immediately.
The following functions are available:
Create Group
Update Group
Rename Group
Copy
Cut
Paste
Delete
Synchronize
The group has the following additional features:
Operation: Displays the following status of the group:
New
Edit
Marked for delete
Locked for Approval
Locked by <username>
Locked for Editing
The above mentioned statuses of the group are different for different users in the Catalog Administration screen. For example, if user 1 has created a new tag, then the status of that tag in the user 1's screen is New and for the other users, the status is Locked.
Category: Displays the type of the groups. For more information, see Category.
Description: Displays the description of the group.
Namespace: Displays the path of the group.
Sync Status: Displays an indicator besides each groups indicating that the associated property set or category is not updated with the changes.
