You use the Key Performance Indicator (KPI) framework to create base or composite KPIs using SAP MII Workbench.

Procedure

To create a Base KPI in the SAP MII Workbench, do the following:

  1. Choose or create a folder from the Object tab.

  2. Right click and choose   File   New File   Base KPI.  

  3. Choose   Template Categories   General.  

  4. In General screen of the Template Categories tab, enter the relevant details.

    You can also enter the maximum and minimum values on the color tabs.

  5. In Data Provider screen, enter the query in the Data Provider field using Load or Paste from Browser button.

  6. In the Dimensions screen, map the dimensions of the Attributes column to query template attributes available in the Column Names column.

    Note Note

    The dimensions Timestamp and Value are mandatory and cannot be deleted.

  7. You can provide an expression containing one or more attributes of datasource columns to map to a dimension using Edit Expression. To do so:

    1. Map any dimension to the selected data source column.

    2. Choose Edit Expression.

    3. Select an attribute from the Column Names column.

    4. Choose any operator from the drop-down list of Operators field and function from the Functions field.

    5. Choose OK.

  8. You can change the properties in the Type, Length fields and edit the default value using Edit Default Value field.

  9. In the Lifecycle screen, enter relevant details in all the fields.

  10. Choose Deploy ALL.

    A success message appears.

  11. To start a task, choose Run.

  12. Choose Execute.

    The attributes and pattern list as selected will be displayed.

  13. In the Visualization screen, enter the parameters for the Query Template and Display Template fields.

  14. Assign roles in the Security screen.

  15. In the Role Mapping screen, assign the roles to receive KPI notifications.

  16. In the Alert screen, enter the relevant details of the predefined alerts.

  17. Select Enable Alerts.

  18. You can modify the values in the Alert screen.

  19. Choose Add to append the alerts to the Alert List field.

To create a Composite KPI, follow the above steps. The only difference is you have to select atleast one predefined KPIs in the Data Provider field.
