Component documentationSAPMEINT: SAP ERP Configuration

This section describes how to configure SAP ERP for SAP ME ERP integration.

The required configuration depends on the version of SAP ERP you have connected to SAP ME and the business functions you have activated. The following business functions support the integration with SAP ME:

  • LOG_PP_MES_INT_01 (available as of ERP 6.00 Enhancement Package 5)

For more information, see Integration of Production Orders with an MES in SAP Library for SAP ERP on SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.comInformation published on SAP site.

  • LOG_PP_MES_INT_02 (available as of ERP 6.00 Enhancement Package 5)

For more information, see Integration of Production Processes with an MES in SAP Library for SAP ERP on SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.comInformation published on SAP site.

  • LOG_PP_MES_INT_03 (available as of ERP 6.00 Enhancement Package 6)

For more information, see Integration of Production Processes with an MES 2 in SAP Library for SAP ERP on SAP Help Portal at http://help.sap.comInformation published on SAP site.

If these business functions are not activated in SAP ERP, the integration uses the Production Optimization Interface (POI). To access it, in the SAP Easy Access menu, choose Start of the navigation path Logistics Next navigation step Central Functions Next navigation step Supply Chain Planning Interface Next navigation step Production Optimization Interface (POI) End of the navigation path.

Maintain ALE settings for POI in Customizing for Logistics - General under Start of the navigation path Supply Chain Planning Interfaces (SCPI) Next navigation step Production Optimization Interface (POI) End of the navigation path.

If at least one of the business functions is activated in SAP ERP, the integration allows automatic distribution of production orders upon their release, based on customizing settings.

If LOG_PP_MES_INT_02 or LOG_PP_MES_INT_03 is activated, some data is distributed by means of the Data Replication Framework (DRF). See Customizing for Start of the navigation path Production Next navigation step Integration with a Manufacturing Execution System End of the navigation path.

Some advanced functions of the integration between SAP ERP and SAP ME require the implementation of support packages or additional notes in SAP ERP. Sections 2 and 3 of the SAP note 1793291Information published on SAP site provide an overview on these requirements.

For more information, see Customizing for ALE for Communication with SAP ME, Other Customizing Activities in SAP ERP, and SAP Note 1573547Information published on SAP siteAuthorization Roles for Service User in SAP ME Integration.
