Example 3 for Make-to-Stock REM Locate this document in the navigation structure

You can use this process if you want to carry out lead time scheduling via the rate routing or the routing and you also want to carry out capacity planning. If you want to see the capacity data of certain line segments in the planning table, define these line segments as capacity segments. In the Planning table, the system displays the capacity data of each capacity segment in a separate row.

This process is mainly used in the consumer products industry and in process manufacturing.

Prerequisites

You define the master data in Line Design.

  • You create a routing, a rate routing or a recipe to map the production process in the system.

  • You create a line hierarchy to provide a structured view of the production line. In the most simple case, you only require the header segment of the line hierarchy. You do not enter a production rate or a number of takts as this data is only relevant for the takt or rate-based scheduling in Sequencing.

Process flow

  1. You carry out the MRP run.

  2. You access the REM planning table which triggers lead time scheduling with capacity planning.

  3. Check the production quantities and the capacity data in the planning table. If necessary, you can also plan other quantities.

  4. You can also display the capacity load in the capacity planning table.
