"One-Card" Kanban/Use of Special Logic to Trigger Kanban Signal Locate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

To trigger a kanban signal with one of the special logics, you must have previously defined which signal triggers replenishment in the control cycle. The number of kanbans in circulation in the case of one-card kanban is two.

The signals for triggering replenishment include:

  • Setting of status "In Use":

Here, replenishment is triggered for kanban A when kanban B is set to the status "In Use"

  • Setting of status "Waiting":

Here, replenishment is triggered for kanban A when kanban B is set to the status "Waiting"

  • Reaching or exceeding trigger quantity

Here replenishment is triggered for kanban A when the actual quantity of kanban B is reduced to the trigger quantity or a value below it as a result of the quantity signal. In this case, the trigger quantity must also have previously been maintained in the control cycle.

Procedure

To trigger the kanban signal, you can also use the functions that are also employed in classic Kanban, such as bar codes or the kanban board. However, the replenishment element is only generated when the status defined in the control cycle is set.
