Purpose

To use decentralized process management, you must have made the relevant Customizing settings in the central and in the decentralized SAP system. The following process describes what you need to do in the central SAP system:

Process Flow

You are in Customizing for Production Planning – Process Industries under   Process Management   Decentralized Process Management   .

  1. You create the RFC destination of the decentralized SAP system to which you want to send control recipesand process messages.

To do so, you choose the activity Define RFC Destinations for Control Recipe Destinations .

  2. You define a control recipe destination of Type 2 – Download to external system, initiated by SAP process management . You enter the RFC destination of the decentralized system as the destination address. This control recipe destination must have the same name as the destination in the decentralized system.

To do so, you choose the activity Define and Set Up Control Recipe Destinations .

  3. To update the status of control recipes correctly in the central and decentralized SAP system, you need special process message categories and destinations. You copy the process message categories and destinations delivered by SAP to your plants for the central system.

By copying the standard message categories:

    • Process message category PI_CRST2: Control recipe status via order and message destination PI17: Ctrl recipe confirmat. via order number are created

    • Message destination PI17 is assigned to message category PI_CRST2.

To do so, you choose the activity Transport Predefined Message Categories to Central SAP System .
