 Editing Classes Locate this document in the navigation structure

Prerequisites

To enter new class data, you first have to create the issuer of the security as the SAP business partner for Financial Services in the role of Issuer .

Procedure

Choose either Transaction Manager ® Securities ® Master Data ® Class or Transaction Manager ® Derivatives ® Master Data ® Listed Derivatives ® Class. The screen for maintaining class data appears.

Enter the security ID number.

This graphic is explained in the accompanying text.

This number uniquely identifies the security. We recommend that you use the official security ID number.

Prerequisite: In Customizing for securities you must have defined the number range intervals as external number ranges. To do this, choose Define Number Ranges for Product Types in Customizing.

You can use the F4 Help to search for classes that have already been created in the system. You can search according to the following criteria:

Classification

Status

Search terms

ID number

Product type

Short name

Product category

Long name

Issuer

Secondary index number

Issue currency

Index class

Sec. classification

Quotation

Search by Rating

ID number

Search by Commodity

ID number

Rating

Commodity ID

Product type

Example:

If you want to search for a specific class using the secondary index, enter the secondary index number and enter the number you are looking for in the Index Class field.

If you want to have all those classes displayed that have a specific secondary index as well as an ID number, enter the secondary index number and enter an asterisk (*) in the Index Class field. A list of all the classes is displayed for which this secondary index has been maintained.

Now choose one of the functions for creating, changing, displaying, deleting, or printing class data.

After you choose  ( ) with the quick info text Create , the system prepares the tab pages for the product type.

Enter this short name, for example, in standard reports. You can also enter a more descriptive long name.

B) Create with reference

Choose the setting With Reference in the area headed Create .

ID number of the copy reference

You can decide whether you also want to copy the following:

Basic data

Conditions

Exchanges

Choose  ( ) ( Copy ).

After you choose  ( ) with the quick info text Copy , the class is created based on the copy reference.

You can now add any missing data and/or change the data from the copy reference.

Make any necessary changes

Save your entries.

Some changes are not permitted. Examples of these are:

Changes to the issue currency

Changes to conditions that have already generated flows

and so on

The system informs you when this occurs.

Print

Choose Class DataPrint

A list of the class data is printed.

 ( ) Delete

The class is deleted unless:

Position indicators exist

Flows (planned or actual records) exist/existed

References exist

Transactions exist/existed for the class

You can switch between the different areas by clicking on the individual tab pages. Access to certain areas is limited to certain product types.

You can also get to these areas by choosing the menu option Goto.

Switching between Classes

By entering a new security ID number in the selection field and choosing a processing function (display, change, and so on), you can switch to another class. By choosing Enter after entering a new security ID number, you can switch to the new class and remain in the same processing mode (for example, change→change).

Additional Functions:

 ( ) Check

This checks the class for consistency. Any errors that occur here are displayed in a dialog box. The same checks are carried out when you save the class.

 ( ) Reset

This function is available in the change mode. It resets the class data to the status it had just after it was last saved.

 ( ) Cash Flow

For stocks and bonds, the system displays a simulated cash flow based on a purchase with a nominal value of 100,000.

Here, the system displays a list of the class data that uses the current security ID number as the underlying.
