Use

You can assign XSteps, which you can use to control the processing of the individual worksteps, to the header and operations in the routing and to the header and operations of the production order (see XSteps in Shop Floor Control ).

Procedure

  1. You create an XStep tree.

  2. You create an XStep within the XStep tree.

  3. You maintain the following data on the Properties screen for the XStep:

    • A control instruction destination

You create the control instruction destination in Customizing under   Shop Floor Control   Integration   Process Integration   Control Instructions/Work Instructions   Control Instruction Destination   Define and Set Up Control Instruction Destinations.

    • Parameters and valuations (where necessary)

      See also: XStep Parameters

    • A scope of generation (where necessary)

      See also: XStep Generation

    • An application context (where necessary)

With the application context, you specify whether the XStep is to apply to an operation, to the entire routing, or to the production order. If you do not assign an application context, the system adopts the context that must be defined for the XStep tree.

  4. You create process instructions for the XStep.

    See also: XStep Process Instructions

  5. You create references to standard XSteps for the XStep (where necessary).

    See also: Standard XSteps

  6. You create further subordinate XSteps for the XStep (where necessary).

  7. You check the XStep tree and correct any errors that are found.

  8. You simulate and test the work instructions for individual control instruction destinations.
