Through the integration of various goods movements, you are able to supply an MES with stock information for production components.

Prerequisites

To integrate inventory management, navigate to Customizing and choose   Production   Integration with a Manufacturing Execution System   Integrate Inventory Management with a Manufacturing Execution System  . Under Enhance IDocs for Integration with an MES, there is also a BAdI for adjusting the IDoc INVCON02.

You have created and activated a replication model that contains the outbound implementation for the goods movement (467_1).

Features

Certain goods movements that you execute to stage material for the production components of the production or planned orders in the ERP system can be transferred to the MES. The following movement types are closely integrated with the MES:

  • Goods issue for an order (movement type 261)

  • One-step stock transfer from location to location (movement type 311); here, stock is built up by means of incoming transfer postings.

Based on these movement types, you can classify storage locations as production storage locations for an MES so that the stocks can be managed more easily with the MES. You can ensure data consistency during goods movements to these storage locations by means of additional checks. You do this by configuring the settings specified in Customizing for Production under   Integration with a Manufacturing Execution System   Integrate Inventory Management with a Manufacturing Execution System  .

To send material documents to an MES, the statistics relevance must be activated for the affected movement types. You do this in Customizing by choosing   Materials Management   Inventory Management and Physical Inventory   Movement Types   Copy, Change Movement Types  . Switch to the details screen for the movement type and select the Statistically relev. indicator in the Updating Control screen area.

If the connected MES supports goods movements other than those listed above, you can create suitable filter criteria for the associated replication model.

Note Note

If you are already using IDoc INVCON02 to integrate goods movements with another system, you need to create a DRF replication model, in addition to the existing ALE model (transaction BD64), for the same target system after activating the business function, so that the partner system is still supplied with goods movements. When doing so, you can keep the existing filter criteria for the ALE model, so that you do not need to define additional filter criteria in the DRF. Alternatively, you can delete the ALE filter criteria and specify the relevant filter values in the DRF (transaction DRFF) in future.

End of the note.
