Using a range of coverage profile, you can base your safety stock levels on actual requirements (dynamic safety stock). This safety stock is calculated using the average daily requirements.
You define the parameters for the range of coverage profile in Customizing for MRP and you assign it to a material in the material master record.
You can also display the days’ supply in the planning table. The days’ supply represents the number of days that a material will cover if only warehouse stock is taken into account. If the days’ supply is not based on the safety stock, but on the physical stock, that is, the available stock, you define this by using an indicator in Customizing for MRP in the activity, Define Receipt Elements for the Receipt Days’ Supply .
