You use this activity to create cost centers and define their characteristics for your site.

The system allows you to define your cost centers in hierarchies to reflect your company's organization or chains of command and responsibilities. For more information, see Cost Center.

Fields

The following table describes fields requiring explanation:

Status

Enabled (default): Users belonging to this cost center can clock in

Disabled: Prevents the cost center from being used for clocking in. Users assigned to disabled cost center cannot clock in.

Default LCC

Specifies the default labor charge code (LCC) for employees assigned to this cost center (see Labor Charge Code)

When employees clock in, the system uses their default user LCC to track their time until they change the LCC or start working in the POD.

You can assign a different default labor charge code to a specific user in User Maintenance. When the user clocks in, the system uses the default LCC in User Maintenance.

Parent/Rollup CC

The parent of the cost center in an organizational hierarchy
