The description that you enter on the General Data tab page describes the document in the logon language. If you enter a description on the General Data tab page and save the document before switching to the Descriptions tab page, the system displays this description on the Descriptions tab page.

The long text entered on the General Data tab page is also language-dependent. For example, if you enter a description and a long text only in the logon language English and you log on in another language, the Description field and the long text dialog box are empty. To prevent this from happening, you can enter descriptions and long texts in different languages on the Descriptions tab page.
