Cancelling Confirmations Locate this document in the navigation structure

Use

If incorrect postings should occur, you can cancel the entry of "actual" data.

Features

When you carry out the cancellation, the overall actual-data entry document (which represents a kind of "paperclip" around all the individual documents) plus the following data are flagged as cancelled:

  • The goods receipt is reversed and the associated material document and overall actual-data entry document are flagged as cancelled.

  • The goods issues for the components are reversed, i.e. the component quantities are posted back.

  • The activities are cancelled.

  • Depending on the settings in the repetitive manufacturing profile, the system proceeds as follows to cover the cancelled/reversed quantities:

    • A planned order is generated in the amount of the quantity cancelled, or

    • A single-item planning run is triggered asynchronously with a planned order that is adjusted to the changed planning situation where necessary, or

    • The system does not generate a planned order. In this case, the planner has to look into the situation.

  • A basic-date-determination process is triggered for the newly generated planned order.

  • If you have specified in the repetitive manufacturing profile that an individual document is to be created for the generation of backlogs, the system deletes the associated individual documents and adjusts the quantity in the cumulative backlog document. In addition, already-postprocessed backlog postings are reversed.

  • Adjustments are made in the Logistics Information System.

  • In the case of the decoupled confirmation, the planned order is increased by the corresponding cancellation/reversal quantity.

    Note Note

In the case of the decoupled confirmation, the reversal of a goods receipt is no longer possible if the goods issue has already taken place.

    End of the note.
Partial Cancellation/Reversal with Adjustment of Individual Components

In some areas, for example, the chemical industry, it can make sense to confirm input quantities in advance, before these quantities are known precisely. The quantity actually used is not measured until after production, using precise measuring equipment. The input quantity must be corrected retrospectively.

To do this, you can carry out a so-called partial cancellation with adjustment of individual components. On the initial screen for confirmation, choose Document-Neutral Cancellation. The system automatically switches the movement type to the reversal movement type if you have made the corresponding settings in Customizing.

You now have the full functionality for the entry of "actual" data at your disposal, but with reversed postings (for example, adjustment of individual components).
