Use

You use this function to define the production supply areas that you need for Kanban.

Features

To define the supply area, you can choose between the following transactions:

  • Maintain Production Supply Area (transaction code PK05)

  • Fast Entry of Production Supply Area (transaction code PK05S)

Activities

To create a new supply area, enter the following data for each plant:

  • Name and short description of the supply area

  • Storage location to which the supply area is assigned. The goods movements for the kanban material are posted to this storage location.

  • Person responsible for production

    Note Note

    In the Kanban application, you must enter the person responsible when creating a production supply area. However, the person responsible for production is not marked as a mandatory entry because you can create supply areas in Warehouse Management using the same transaction without having to enter this person.

  • Unloading point (where appropriate)

    The unloading point is printed on the kanban card or adopted in the summarized JIT call itself.
