Processing Errors After Backflushing Locate this document in the navigation structure

Use

Errors may occur when the system is saving the data in the backflushing transaction. It is possible that the logical stock level is insufficient at the time of the withdrawal posting. Or, errors occurred in the master data if, for example, the system could not determine a storage location or if the material data is locked by another user.

Note Note

The system can only backflush components successfully if the current stock quantity completely covers the requirement quantity to be backflushed. If this is not the case, the system creates a backlog for the complete requirements quantity.

End of the note.

If you use stock determination, the system splits the quantity into the available quantity which is withdrawn and the remaining quantity for which it creates a backlog.

Integration

You can process errors for the final backflush and for the reporting point backflush.

Prerequisites

Settings in Customizing for Repetitive Manufacturing:

  • In the repetitive manufacturing profile, you must specify how the system is to proceed when errors occur for withdrawal postings in backflushing.

  • You must set the repetitive manufacturing profile so that backlogs are created.

Features

The system can react in various ways to errors during the withdrawal posting:

  • No correction in dialog mode. Here, you must maintain the indicator Backlog option to allow backlogs.

  • The component quantities or the storage location must be corrected in dialog mode. The system will only proceed with the posting transaction once you have corrected all discrepancies.

  • A dialog correction is optional. Here, the system asks whether you want to correct the withdrawal error (in this case, the system proceeds as explained in point 2) or not (in this case, the system proceeds as explained in point 1). If you decide to correct the discrepancies in dialog mode, the system then branches to the item overview where you can make the necessary corrections. That is, you can change, create or delete components.

Caution Caution

If you decide not to correct the discrepancies in dialog mode, the system only creates backlogs if you have set the indicator Backlog option in the repetitive manufacturing profile appropriately.

 ( )

The changes to components are not updated in the BOM. They are only recorded in the backflushing accounting documents.

End of the caution.
