In conjunction with an EWM system, you can only carry out final confirmation for a finished product, because only the finished product can be managed using EWM. The components that are built into the finished product must be withdrawn from an MM-IM- or WM-managed storage location.
You carry out final confirmation for a finished product. In the process, you can also enter the actual quantity of components used.
Note
The system cannot carry out the following processes at the time of final confirmation:
Automatic goods receipt for the finished product or assembly
Automatic activity posting
Backflushing of components used
Automatic updating of the planned orders
The system generates a document log for the final confirmation.
The system generates an inbound delivery for the confirmed finished product.
You can display this inbound delivery that ERP generated for the finished product in the document log.
The inbound delivery is automatically replicated in the EWM system.
In the EWM system, you can specify whether or not a goods receipt is automatically to be posted. Immediate goods receipt posting is preset in the standard system. In this case, EWM posts the goods receipt of the finished product at once.
This goods receipt posting triggers the following postings in the ERP system:
Goods receipt of the finished product
Goods issue of the components used
Posting of production activities
Updating in LIS
Updating of the affected planned orders
ERP creates a second document log containing all these postings.
