Procedure documentationClosing Multiple Primary NCs with One Secondary NC Locate this document in the navigation structure

You can set up nonconformance clients to allow users to close multiple primary NC codes with the same secondary NC code. For example, some operators may need to log the same repair code, such as REPLACED against several primary NC codes indicating test failure, to record that the same action was taken to fix several failures. Users can also log one secondary NC code against multiple primary NC codes without closing them.

Procedure

  1. In NC Code Maintenance on the Main tab page, define the primary NC and select the Secondary Required for Closure checkbox.

  2. In NC Client Maintenance, retrieve a client where the user can log secondary NCs, ensure that the NC list specified on the NC Data Tree tab page has the Allow Multiple Selection checkbox selected in List Maintenance. On the NC Data Tree tab page, select the Display Close All Open NCs Button checkbox.

  3. On the Main tab page in POD Maintenance, retrieve the PODs you use for these operators and enter the nonconformance client from the previous step in the NC Client field and ensure that the NC Data Tree plug-in is configured for the POD.

  4. Give access to this POD to the operators you want to allow them to close multiple primary NCs with one secondary NC.
